Serious Games and Assistive Technology

An academic research group at Bournemouth University

About Us

We are a group of academics from the Creative Technology Department at BU with a common research interest in the subjects of Serious Games and / or Assistive Technology.

  • Serious Games for us is the general use of game technology or techniques for purposes other than primarily for leisure entertainment.
  • Assistive Technology is about using appropriate tools to enable individuals to achieve something that would otherwise be difficult or impossible for them. This could be due to physical or cognitive challenges.

The purpose of the SGAT RG is to bring together likeminded academics, to provide opportunity to discuss ideas and collaborate on projects, thus fostering a research culture to progress development in its key focus areas.
